Expandable Calendar Boxes, Black
American Printing House for the Blind
NA
1-08652-00
Description

These closed-cell foam boxes can be used singularly (as an anticipation box) or in a grouping of two or more (as calendar boxes). For example, use one box as an anticipation “now” box, and when the student is ready to perform multiple activities, additional boxes can be attached. Connecting a second box helps students learn the concepts of “now” and “next”. Add a third box, and the student now has a daily calendar of activities that can go up to six boxes/activities. In the instance a student completes six activities before lunch, the learner and teacher reload the boxes for afternoon activities.

Benefits students who have:

  • Autism
  • Deafblindness
  • Visual and multiple impairments
  • Other disabilities that put them at risk for not understanding, participating in, or directing the events that surround them
